Programme of Study for BSc.(Nursing) degree of the West Bengal University of Health Sciences.
This programme of study leads to a Basic BSc.(Nursing) degree of the West Bengal University of Health Sciences.
1. EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES :
Under the overall aims and goals of the Shova Rani Nursing College, the following are the main objectives of the course. At the time of completion of the course the graduates are expected to
a) have a broad concept of the fundamental principles of quality nursing care, and demonstrate skill in providing nursing care to people of all age groups based on principles of physical, biological and behavioral sciences in an institution or in a community setting;
b) participate as members of the health care team in promotive, preventive and restorative health care delivery system of the country;
c) demonstrate leadership qualities and decision making abilities in various nursing situations;
d) demonstrate skill in teaching and supervising nursing care both in the hospital and in community setting;
e) recognizes the need for continued learning, and for personal and professional growth;
f) uphold ethical values;
g) Advance without further formal education to positions which require skills in clinical teaching and unit management.
2. DURATION OF THE COURSE :
4 Years.
3. ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS :
Admission is open to all candidates who fulfill the following requirements.
(1) The College admits both Male & Female candidates as per Indian Nursing Council Regulation.
(2) The Candidates should have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st December 2005.
(3) Minimum educational qualification is a pass in Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination, Senior School Certificate Examination, Pre- Degree Examination or an equivalent with 12 years schooling with Biological, Physical sciences and English.
(4) The Candidate will have to undergo a Medical check up, and produce a fitness certificate, from our approved institution/ registered medical Practitioner.
(5) The Candidates should possess good health and moral character.
